REGISTRATIONS FOR SPRING 2018 ARE NOW OPEN !!!!

If you are lucky enough to have a child that expresses interest in playing lacrosse, you can look forward to a lot of things. There are a number of benefits to playing the sport that can make a world of difference for the average youngster. From improved mental acuity, increased fitness, socialization and team building, lacrosse is the perfect sport for kids to play – and it is fun to watch for parents as well!!

Learn to play the fastest growing sport in the country!!
The Hilliard Optimist Club is now forming boys and girls teams at each of the following divisions. Season runs from March - May:

Lax Minis (1-2 grade) - clinic based program that meets every Sunday for an hour and a half through the season.
Juniors (3-4 grade) – practice one to two times per week with games on Sundays.
Seniors (5-6 grade) – practice two to three times per week with games on Sundays.

Registration fee includes game jersey and use of a helmet (boys) or goggles (girls), and a mouthpiece. Player to provide lacrosse stick (boys and girls) and pads for boys (shoulder, elbow, gloves).

For the Boys Lax Minis Program, we will also loan shoulder pads if needed in addition to the helmet.  Also, this year we will be loaning use of a lacrosse stick to our minis participants.  Having a properly strung stick is essential for every player, but it's especially important for our beginners who are just learning how to pass and catch.  This year we are providing stick specifically designed for the younger players.  This stick will be legal through the Jr. division.  You can loan one at now charge, however if you would like to purchase one of your own ahead of the season, you can do so during registration for an extra ($55.00)

Follow use on Facebook and Twitter @HOYLLAX for all the latest updates.

If the weather is agreeable, we will be on the Davidson turf.  If the weather is not so nice, we'll be inside the Davidson field house.  We plan to have multiple coaches present from our youth program, the Hilliard High Schools and some players from Capital University.

We will be providing equipment (helmets and shoulder pads) to anyone who does not have their own.  If you need equipment, please plan to come pick this up on Saturday, October 28th between 8:00 am and 10:00 am at our storage building located between the Hilliard Heritage Stadium and Baseball fields.

Since we are offering this for free, we do ask that you consider making a donation to the Hilliard Optimist Lacrosse Program.  We are currently trying to raise $2000 to purchase sticks for our lax minis program (1-2nd graders), so that they can start off with a stick that has been specifically designed for these little laxers.

We saw fantastic improvement in the skill level of all players at all levels. It’s very important that your son spends time working on his stick work.  It is important that players are confident in their stick skills and putting in the extra effort will absolutely make a difference.   Even taking 10 minutes a day all summer long will show exponential results.

This is a basic program.  Use a throwback or a wall.
