All The Good Stuff

It’s time to start thinking about spring!!  If you are new to the sport, the Hilliard Optimist Rec Program is a fantastic way to learn how to play this fast paced and exciting game.  Ask any current lacrosse parent, and they will tell you that their kids not only love the sport, but the excitement of watching it being played is like none other!

About the Hilliard Optimist Youth Lacrosse (HOYL) program:

The Hilliard Optimist Club will be forming boys and girls teams at each of our three age groups:

  • “Lax Minis” (1-2 grade) - clinic based program that meets every Sunday on game days for instruction and inter-league games.
  • “Juniors” (3-4 grade) – practice one to two times per week with games (typically double headers) on Sundays against other Hilliard teams and opponents from other districts.
  • “Seniors” (5-6 grade) – practice two to three times per week with games (typically double headers) on Sundays against other Hilliard teams and opponents from other districts.

Every player registering will receive a jersey (theirs to keep) and loaned helmet (boys) or goggles (girls) at no additional cost.  Every participant will be required to provide their own lacrosse stick and cleats.

Boys will also need to have their own shoulder pads, arm pads, and gloves.  This additional equipment can be found used or new for a relatively low cost through at Play It Again sports in Hilliard
